Software Installation Questions

Q: What are the system requirements for the tablet and desktop software?

  • PC Windows: 
    • Windows 10 22H2 or newer
    • Intel 64-bit processor or equivalent (1 GHz or higher)
    • Minimum 4GB RAM
    • 500MB of available hard disk space
    • Display with at least 1280 x 720 resolution
    • Internet connection required
  • Mac: 
    • macOS 13 (Ventura) or newer
    • Processor/Chipset - Intel [i5 onwards] and Apple Silicon [2020 onwards]
    • Minimum 8GB RAM
  • Android Tablet - Android 11 or newer
  • Apple iPad - iOS 16 or newer

Q: How do I download and install mySewnet Crafting software?

To get started, visit the mySewnet website at www.mysewnet.com. Here, you can create a free mySewnet account and download the free Crafting Software.


Embroidery vs. Crafting Software

Q: Is the mySewnet Crafting Software the same as the mySewnet Embroidery Software?

They are similar, but cannot be used interchangeably. The embroidery software and designs are to be used with sewing machines. The new crafting software empowers your SINGER momento crafting machine.


Q: Can I use mySewnet Embroidery Software with my SINGER momento Craft Cutting Machine?

No. Currently, embroidery designs cannot be sent to cut on the MOMENTO Craft Cutting machine. 


mySewnet Subscriptions (Paid & Basic)

Q: Can I purchase an individual design or project from the mySewnet Library? 

Yes, you can purchase individual designs and projects a la carte.  


Q: If I have a mySewnet subscription, how long will I have access to the Library content and my downloads? 

Any mySewnet Library content that is downloaded or saved from the mySewnet Library during your subscription are available for as long as your subscription remains active. 


Connectivity

Q: What do I do if mySewnet Crafting Software does not automatically detect my machine via WiFi? 

  • Check that both computer or tablet are on the same WiFi network as the machine.
  • Try the manual WiFi setup. You can find the machine's IP address by clicking the gear in the upper right corner of the machine to get to the Settings.
    • Select WiFi and it will display the WiFi network and IP address of the machine
  • If you cannot connect to the machine using this process, you can always connect via USB cord.
  • Also confirm that you are using a 2.4 GHz, not 5 GHz

Q: Can I use mySewnet Crafting Software offline? 

Yes, but you cannot send a design to the machine and you cannot download a design to mySewnet Vault if the software is offline. 


Software Usage

Q: Can I use mySewnet Crafting Software across multiple computers and/or tablets?

Yes, as projects and designs are able to be saved to the mySewnet Vault, you can access your saved projects and images from any compatible computer or tablet that you can log in to your mySewnet account from. 


Q: What format is compatible to upload files? 

With mySewnet Crafting Software, you can upload svg, .png, and .jpg file types. Note that .png and .jpg files are for use when designing Print-then-Cut projects only. Also note that .svg files must be cut files (as opposed to, say, a .svg Embroidery file).  


Q: Can I export designs from mySewnet Crafting Software? 

No, you cannot export designs from the Software.  


Q: Can I turn off the grid in mySewnet Crafting Software? 

  • Yes, in the mySewnet Crafting Software, you can change or turn off the grid on the canvas.  
  • Simply go to the View button located on the right hand side of the canvas
    • To turn off the grid, scroll to the bottom and in the grid section select the display grid button to turn off grid
    • This same screen allows for adjustments to be made to the color and size of the grid.

Q: How do I change the measurement units in mySewnet Crafting Software? 

There are two ways to change the measurement units in mySewnet Crafting Software: 

  1. From the home screen, select App Settings on the left hand side. Then, select App Settings in the Settings screen and select the unit of measurement you want.
  2. From the canvas screen, select Edit located on the top toolbar and select Settings. Then, select App Settings in the Settings screen and select the unit of measurement
